Long Ride to Llanbedr

Total amount raised to date : £333.00

On Sunday 29 of June 2008 at 0500 I will start cycling from my home in Stoke On Trent to Shell Island, Llanbedr, North Wales, Gwynedd in aid of two very needy UK charities, the County Air Ambulance Appeal and the National Life Boat Appeal. I will hopefully be completing 110 miles in 1 day, and then falling into a long shower and then a good pub

Why these two charities

County Air Ambulance Appeal
The County Air Ambulance has saved countless lives across 11 counties since commencing service in 1991. Providing a rapid response to the most life threatening medical emergencies and remote destinations. This is only possible through your generous donations, support and time. - www.countyairambulance.com

National Lifeboat Appeal
Volunteer crew members readily exchange leisure, comfort and sleep for cold, wet and fatigue. Their lifesaving work is essential, often difficult and sometimes dangerous. - www.rnli.org.uk

With your support ShellIslandCampers has already donated over £90.00 each to both the charities so far this year and with your help we can only make this better

My Route
Joining the A525 at Keele (University), through Madeley, Woore and Audlem onto Whitchurch.

Skirting around Whitchurch on the bypass road onto Eglwys Cross (English/Welsh boarder). Turning left onto the A539 through Hanmer and Overton and onto Ruabon and then Llangollen.

At Llangollen I’ll join the very busy A5 and head towards Corwen. Taking the left hand turn onto the A494 I’ll join the road into Bala and head towards Dolgellau. From here I’ll pickup the A496 and start towards Barmouth and then onto Shell Island, Llanbedr. 110 miles

How can you sponsor me or donate to this event
Donations can be made in cheque, postal order or cash to me personally or via post (please contact me via email for my address). As much or as little you can afford to donate or sponsor will be more than greatly appreciated

Guess how long it will take me. By donating in denominations of £5.00 per time slot you can attempt to guess in hours and minutes how long it will take me to complete this event. The person who guesses the correct time, or nearest within 15 minutes will win 10% of the money raised. All these times will be logged on this page. No more than one person can guess the same time slot. You can guess as many time slots as you wish. An example of a time slot is '4 hours and 31 minutes'.

If you would like to join me or help with this event in anyway please contact me with your suggestions. Any assistance given will be at your own risk and cost

Corporate sponsors.  Please contact me directly via email with your thoughts and ideas

All monies raised will go directly to the charities

Any money donated, pledged or sponsored will need to be collected in full on or before the date of the event to ensure this can be banked with the relevant charities quickly

My time will officially stop when I enter the reception office at Shell Island
