Sorry but
this website works best in Microsoft Internet Explorer
Thursday 24th of July 2008 02:27:48 AM
I've put this site together to allow campers on Shell Island to independently
put their views together and to keep an up to date briefing of news about Shell
Island (as the official website has been rather stagnant for a very long time)
This site is not endorsed or supported in any way what so ever by the
management team at Shell Island. It would be nice if it was though !!!!
I intend to keep this site updated and if needed will pass on via fax any comments to the Shell Island management team. This correspondence will be kept up to date here
If you have any information or news about
Shell Island that you'd like to add to this news site please feel free to email me. I'll gladly give you all the credit for it
Thanks to everyone who has emailed me some very kind comments about the site and kept me up to date with any news, anything relevant will of course get posted. Also please check out the Gallery section theres some very nice photos there, please keep them coming, it keeps me busy. If you've got any ideas for the site or would like to see something on the site that is Shell Island related please email me and I'll see what I can do.
Long
Ride to Llanbedr
Well, we did it. On Sunday 29 June
myself and two good friends cycled from Stoke On Trent to Shell Island, a
total of 110 miles.
From Stoke to Whitchurch, to Llangollen, to Bala,
to Dolgellau, then Barmouth and Shell Island.
Along the way we managed to raise around £900.00 pounds for both the RNLI
and the County Air Ambulance Appeal.
The ride took us 10 hours and 25
minutes from start to finish and we had a great time.
Many thanks to everyone who was kind enough to
sponsor us for this event
Shell Island Sail and Power Club
Its that time of year again, Saturday 12th July is the Clubs Gala Day. The event has traditionally been held to support Barmouth
RNLI, and this year we are also going to raise funds for the Welsh Air Ambulance, as their services are vital in the Shell island area, and they also depend on charitable contributions.
We’re hoping to make it a memorable event, and all visitors to Shell Island are welcome. The stalls will be open at around 12.00 until 3.00, and will include the ever-popular
Tombola, open top car rides, shooting range, duck stall, Barbara's fabulous home made cake stall, a treasure hunt around the island and much more. There will also be burgers & hot dogs to save you cooking!
There will be a duck race in the harbour at around 12.00 (start time dictated by the tide), and a Dutch auction of all manner of items throughout the day. There will be a pig roast served at around 6.30, and the auction winners and winners of the treasure hunt will be announced in the marquee at around 7.00.
After this the evening is rounded off by Bert’s brilliant disco, a bar and a fabulous live 2 piece act. We also have a Bucks Fizz breakfast on Sunday morning at 10.30 to cure your hangover. So don’t forget, its all for charity………………
Batala
Bermo have also confirmed they will be onsite during the day, these
are a superb and highly energetic Brazilian Samba reggae band from Barmouth.
You may have seen these before at Shell Island or at the Barmouth Festival

Chip and PIN Receipts
Watch your "Chip and PIN"
receipts. The Chip and PIN machines on Shell Island print out way to
much information. This includes the ENTIRE card number, the issue and
the card holder name. This is not the fault of Shell Island but all
to do with Barclays Bank PLC.
