These are some things I've seen at Shell Island that made me laugh
thru the years

Obviously a big sign - Easter 2006
Myself and my mate took my kids to see the Harry Potter
end of season firework display in 2005.
As you know getting over the causeway was pretty dire that night, it was
unexpectedly covered for a while. Whilst everyone else waited patiently for the
waters to subside a "local" in her words, who knew the causeway like the back of
her hand, decided that she knew the lay of the road and didn't need to wait for
the waters to ebb away.
Needless to say, she decided to go over to Shell in her four wheel drive. She
was actually quite obnoxious to my 11 year old when he had tried to explain what
had happened and that the waters would go down soon.
I don't know who cheered loudest when her 4wd went off road and into the water
fully, my son, me or the whole crowd. As good as the fireworks were, that is our
abiding happy memory of that particular visit to Shell Island.
