I've put this site together to allow campers on Shell Island to independently put their views together and to keep an up to date briefing of news about Shell Island

This site is not endorsed or supported in any way what so ever by the management team at Shell Island. It would be nice if it was though !!!!

I intend to keep this site updated and if needed will pass on any comments to the Shell Island management team. This correspondence will be kept up to date here

Thanks to everyone who has emailed me some very kind comments about the site and kept me up to date with any news, anything relevant will of course get posted. Febuary 18th 2010
Shell island is now accepting applications/C.Vs for seasonal work, in the various departments on site. SHOPS - Supermarket, Gift Shop and Camp Shop. Tavern bar, Kitchen and Snackbar Ground Staff/Cleaning Reception.
Some accomadation is available (shared caravans), or you can camp on site.
Rates of pay vary depending on age and departments.
Shell Island is an equal opportunity employer.

Prices for camping will remain the same as 2009, with OAP rates available at selected times

BBC Wales News 12 Nov 2009 Llanbedr Airfield

Park airfield request turned down

A request to continue using an airfield on the site of a former RAF base in Gwynedd has been turned down.

The Snowdonia National Park Authority said it is refusing the certificates that would allow the site at Llanbedr, near Harlech, to re-open.

The Heart Cockle shell.

If you look at the side of this shell, you will see a heart shape, which is how it got its name. It lives in muddy sand below the low tide level, but may be washed ashore.

Chip and PIN Receipts

Watch your "Chip and PIN" receipts. The Chip and PIN machines on Shell Island print out way to much information. This includes the ENTIRE card number, the issue and the card holder name. This is not the fault of Shell Island but all to do with Barclays Bank PLC.
