I've put this site together to allow campers on Shell Island to independently
put their views together and to keep an up to date briefing of news about Shell
Island (as the official website has been rather stagnant for a very long time)
This site is not endorsed or supported in any way what so ever by the
management team at Shell Island. It would be nice if it was though !!!!
I intend to keep this site updated and if needed will pass on via fax any comments to the Shell Island management team. This correspondence will be kept up to date here
If you have any information or news about
Shell Island that you'd like to add to this news site please feel free to email me. I'll gladly give you all the credit for it
Thanks to everyone who has emailed me some very kind comments about the site and kept me up to date with any news, anything relevant will of course get posted. Also please check out the Gallery section theres some very nice photos there, please keep them coming, it keeps me busy. If you've got any ideas for the site or would like to see something on the site that is Shell Island related please email me and I'll see what I can do.

....Shell Island of course.
This year sees the 50th anniversary of Shell Island running as a holiday
campsite and to help celebrate this Shell
Island are hosting a huge 50th birthday party on Saturday June 14th 2008, so
check your diaries and make sure you can attend. If you are hoping to camp
onsite on this weekend expect the campsite to fill up fast so consider your
travel options. Reception will also be closing at 3pm on the Saturday to
allow staff to get into the party mood with you all.
This is expected to be a superb day out and as usual with all Shell Island
parties fireworks and live bands are being organised as well as a large outdoor
party
Luckily there is no high tide over this weekend so if you are not staying on the Island
there is no need to worry about not being able to leave until late
As I get more information on this event I'll keep you all posted or watch the news
site on the Official Shell Island

the 50th Birthday Party. Please note that the Shell Island 50th
Birthday Party IS ONLY BOOKABLE OVER THE TELEPHONE to Shell Island reception
on 01341-241-453 x21. No other bookings are valid and you stand a chance of
losing any money paid to any vendor

There are currently 150 pre-bookable spaces available
By Pre-booking a camping space this will guarantee you a pitch at Shell Island
for the 50th Birthday Party weekend only
If you would like to pre book a camping pitch for this weekend please phone

There may be pitches available on the Saturday of the party but pre booking will
guarantee that you get a pitch
On Sunday 29 of June 2008 at 0500 I will start cycling from my home in
Stoke On Trent to Shell Island,
Llanbedr, North Wales, Gwynedd in aid of two very needy UK charities, the County
Air Ambulance Appeal and the National
Life Boat Appeal.
I will hopefully be completing 110 miles in 1 day, and
then falling into a long hot shower and then a good pub

Watch your "Chip and PIN"
receipts. The Chip and PIN machines on Shell Island print out way to
much information. This includes the ENTIRE card number, the issue and
the card holder name. This is not the fault of Shell Island but all
to do with Barclays Bank PLC.
